Christmas Wish for the Southern Witch
by Michael Crawford
Oh, blessed be
Ms Christmas Eve
I'd like to wish a spell from thee
Please cleanse the souls of mortal man
Heal the wombs of wound, ma'am
Protect the youth from lust and greed
But fill their void of Christmas need
Cradle birth and bless its life
Flood the earth with Southern light
Stir a cauldron with words of verse
Prove the universe can cure a curse
Wave the wand of soulful song
Ask southern souls to sing along
A symphony if you please
Of peace and feast and melodies
Of gift giving gifts of giving dreams
With starlit skies of moonlit beams
Touching hearts internationally
Even those who don't believe
Those who won't or can't conceive
For they are those who truly need
But most of all I beg of thee
Hold me close to my family
Grant me please this Christmas wish
To you with love...Ms Southern Witch

Michael Crawford is a 30-something husband and father. He has been
writing seriously since mid high school, but teachers have encouraged his talent since elementary school. Crawford was born in Oklahoma but was raised all across the Southern states, finally stopping in Virginia (Hampton Roads) until graduation and then making his way to New Orleans. He currently does live performances for junior highs, high schools and colleges. He is well on his way to making poetry
a career. Keep your eyes and ears open--you'll see him one day.
"Love Life
Live Long
Let Life
Give Song"
